Smiling jack-o-lantern with a big grin coloring page
A jack-o-lantern fills the page: a carved pumpkin with two round eyes, a wide mouth full of square teeth and a curly stem, and nothing around it. It is the simplest drawing in the collection, one big orange shape and a few holes, which is what makes it the one to print for the youngest hands. The name comes from an Irish tale about a man called Stingy Jack who was left wandering with a lantern made from a turnip; when Irish emigrants reached America they found pumpkins easier to carve, and the turnip was forgotten. For a pumpkin with company, the kitten on a jack-o-lantern adds a cat on top.

- Leave the eyes and mouth white, or fill them yellow as if a candle were lit inside.
- night blue Green for the stem, and a pale blue or black background if you want it to look like night.
